The American Heart Association is on a mission to reduce heart problems in America. Heart disease is America's number one killer, and the AHA wants you to be aware, know the risks, protect your future, and be healthy. On Saturday May 31st, the American Heart Association is featuring the Twin Cities Heart Walk at the Target Field. All are welcome to come support and walk.
The gates open at 7:00 am, with opening ceremonies starting at 9:00 am. There will be two open courses for walkers. The first is a mile long course, and the second option is a three mile course. The courses begin and end at Target Field but weave throughout a scenic downtown Minneapolis view.
The American Heart Association has a goal set for $2,560,000 to be raised. Right now, they have raised a little over half of that goal. There are different participant levels depending on the amount a person raised. The minimum for a prize (first level prize is a t-shirt) is $100.00. Prizes go up depending on amount of money collected.
There are no fees or minimum amounts of money required if you want to walk.
There are several ramps that will offer $5 dollars off of parking for attending the event. The metro transit bus and light rail is also offering free rides! More information can be found on their website
Register yourself or a team and donate to an organization that is out to solve the number one killer in America. Registration is still open, and donations always accepted.
