Super Troopers is one of those beloved, cult comedies that people can quote over and over. The movie came out 17 years ago (wow, that sure makes me feel old) and still to this day is one of my favorite comedies. Broken Lizard, the comedy troupe behind the aforementioned title,
Club Dread,
Beerfest and
Slammin' Salmon, has wanted to make a
Super Troopers 2 for years -- but it never quite got the traction needed to be made (a lot of that had to due to the project not getting studio support, i.e. funding).

With the holidays passed, Minnesotans have little to look forward to besides intermittent sunlight, freezing cold temps and the hope of an early spring. For the 7th consecutive year, Red Bull is breaking up the monotony of the winter season with some downhill ice skating craziness. The Red Bull Ice Cross Downhill Championship event kicks January 19 and 20.
Although years past have brought subzero temps and double digit negative windchill temps, people from all over flocked by the thousands to check this crazy event out. Aside from Hockey Day in Minnesota, this is the premiere winter event in the metro.
St. Paul is the first...!--more-->

The "Road to Nashville, will be an eight day, multiple state, charitable motorcycle journey from Minnesota down to Tennessee. All of this is to raise money and awareness to battle AIDS.
The celebrities on hand to kick off the event at the Mall of America are Anthony Carrino (HGTV's America's Most Desperate Kitchens) actor Gilles Marini (Teen Wolf, Sex and the City) TV host Grant Reynolds and many more.

Heading into its 5th year, the LakeFront Music Festival is back in action this weekend in Prior Lake. Put on the Prior Lake Rotary Club as a fundraising event, this festival is not just your average concert series with a bunch of local bands turning up their amps and guitars for a few weary-eyed bar patrons -- this music festival is the real deal, an all out spectacle, and is set up right on the shore of Lower Prior Lake.
This growing music festival is set to host The Fray, Kat Perkins, David Nail, Billy Currington and more -- like I said, not just a lineup of dodgy local bands. Friday night kicks off with "Rock Night" and Saturday wraps up with "Country Night."

When the kids get out of school and are around all summer, sometimes parents need to get creative on how to keep them busy and get them out of the house. And each year, some families wonder what is the perfect gift to give dad for Father's Day. Well, how about checking out the way life was back in the 19th century agricultural industry?
Well doesn't that sound like fun? Ok, maybe not at first blush, but this event sounds like a blast for those families who like to be outside and working with their hands. This event, hosted by the
Kelley Farm staff, would be a great day for dad and kids who...!--more-->

With summer finally coming on (is it? wasn't it 52º today in the Twin Cities?) it's hard to embrace the long wait until the Minnesota State Fair. But Minnesota is filled with many other summer fairs that can help bridge the gap between now and then.
The Clay County Fair is certainly one of those events -- look for this fair in mid July in Barnesville. Sure it's a drive northwest up 94, but it's worth it for fair food.
The four day event is packed with family entertainment that has something for everyone to appreciate. Most of all, delicious (and mostly unhealthy) food.
This fair has been in operation for over a century, starting up in 1914. Each...!--more-->

With the anniversary of the passing of Minnesota music legend Prince, it's no surprise that a lot of tributes and dedications make their way to the local scene. Many radio stations played non-stop Prince, dance clubs had all night parties and First Avenue played host to many mourners from across the globe who came to pay their respects to the exterior famed golden star of Prince.
Prince showed that music is not only alive in Minnesota, but thriving. First Avenue is one of the nation's most famous venues -- and with that, there have been a multitude of legendary performers and performances over the years.
To celebrate that, the Mill City Museum has been showcasing an exhibit (running from...!--more-->

It's no secret that seniors and those with disabilities in our community sometimes need help. There are many organizations that help those in need, and when those organizations need a show of support, it's always great to see the community respond.
Lake Como is hosting an event called the 'Age Out Loud' Run + Walk to help show support for the elderly in the community -- this event is being put on by the local non-profit, Help at Your Door. This non-profit is geared towards helping seniors and those with disabilities maintain their independence. They help those in need with groceries, transportation and handyman services.

It’s the middle of winter and we have all been hibernating as much as possible from the cold weather. Yet, it’s only about a month before the Minnesota Twins officially arrive at Spring Training on February 13 with pitchers and catchers reporting. The rest of the players report on February 17. However, if you’re looking for a baseball fix, the Twins have some events to get you ready for the upcoming season.
The first is
Twinsfest which will be held at Target Field on January 27-29 and will feature around 60 current, former and future Twins players. There will be many activities such...!--more-->
