Jesse Lusk Tent Event Set For This Sunday

Jesse Lusk Benefit Earlier this summer during a softball game at Walton Park, Jesse Lusk, 32, passed away after collapsing at the fields. He died far too young, a father of one, soon to be two, and will be missed by all those who knew him. He was a father, a youth football coach, and a good friend to so many. His impact on the community is clear with so many lamenting his early death. To help his daughter and expecting girlfriend Rachel, the community has rallied to raise money in Jesse's honor. First it was a softball tournament held up at Walton Park a few weekends back, now a tent party at B-52 Burgers and Brew in Inver Grove Heights. The tent party is set to happen this Sunday -- keep it in mind if you are looking to help a great cause. Besides the appeal of helping out Jesse's family, attendees can watch the Vikings game (if they can stomach the pain), and listen to the bands Good for Gary at 1 pm, and Tim Sigler at 5 pm. There is also a bake sale, a silent auction, lots of games and prizes, and of course, food and beer. The silent auctions items are unreal -- there is tons of signed sports memorabilia, gift baskets, tools, beer signs, and so much more. The event is for an excellent cause, but attend and try not to have fun with activities like that. I never knew Jesse, but I played softball against him plenty of times as Walton Park has been my softball stomping grounds for years. His life ended all too early, but events such as this show just how much he meant to so many. A sad event is followed up by many remarkable ones -- Jesse Lusk, gone, but definitely not forgotten.
