Looking for last minute plans? Check out the Macalester-Groveland Festival hosted by the Mac-Grove Community Council for their first ever festival. The festival will be held in Groveland Park on the corner of St. Clair Ave and Prior Ave South. It will be this Saturday, September 6th, 2014. Festivities will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the movie E.T. kicking off at dusk. Live music will be performed from local artists. Groups include The Capital City Brass Quintet, Laura Jeffrey Academy, The Falderals and more. There will also be crafts to do for all, a bouncy house, a rock climbing wall,  and special features like demonstrations from  T'ai Chi Chih meditation center. Food will be on site with featured vendors like Scusi, Groveland Tap, and Kowalski's. On the event website there is a reminder to bring your own chairs and blankets. This is a great way to explore what is available from your community (or nearby community) and the people who make up said community. Spend your last days of summer outside enjoying nice weather and some lovely music and company!   Image via: Mac-Grove Website
