Minnesota Jobless Rate Reaches New Low

Unemployment rates

Minnesota has recorded an unemployment rate of 4.6% for the month of May, the lowest number in seven years. This puts Minnesota much lower than the national unemployment rate of 6.3%. Minnesota employers added 10,300 jobs throughout May and more than 45,000 jobs in the past year. These increases put Minnesota's growth rate at 1.6%. Though we are doing well nationally in unemployment rates, our growth rate is just a bit below the national rate of 1.8%. The sectors that added the most jobs were professional and business services, construction, manufacturing and information.   Photo via: Flazingo Photos
