Payne Arcade Harvest Fest Kicks Off This Weekend

Screen Shot 2014-09-16 at 1.41.09 AM Coming this weekend is the Payne Arcade Harvest Fest, brought by the Payne Arcade Business Association. The event kicks off on Friday with a few options: a dance at the American Legion starting at 8:00 p.m. featuring live music from the Willie Walker Band -- or head to Minnesota Music Café, one of the event sponsors, for live music also at 8:00 p.m. to listen to the Westside Band. Saturday starts at 7:30 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at Arlington Hills Lutheran Church followed by a parade at noon on Payne Avenue (between Maryland Ave and Phalen Boulevard). It is followed by an international festival block party also on Payne Avenue (near Aguirre Street). The block party goes on until 6:00 p.m. Over 30 vendors will be present with different local food, art, apparel and so much more. The Arlington Hills Community Center and Salvation Army will also be hosting special events throughout the day. Lastly, on Sunday there are the Sandlot baseball games from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Wilder Recreation Center.
