State Fair Prices Increase for 2014

Minnesota State Fair

Lovers of the Great Minnesota Get-Together will be paying higher prices for a day at the fair this year. But not too worry, the increases aren't likely to break the bank. Regular admission will be raised $1 for adults, meaning you'll be paying $13 at the gate. Children's and seniors' tickets are also up $1 to $11 for admission. This is the first admission increase in the last four years. Admission tickets purchased before the fair will also go up $1. These tickets are available through Aug. 20 and will now cost $10. The last time advance tickets increased was seven years ago. Parking for the Fair will also increase $1, making it $13 now. Midway and Kidway tickets are the final increases we will see. A sheet of 30 tickets will now cost $25, compared to last year when a sheet of 28 cost $20. Individual tickets will be up to $1 from last years 75 cents. The increases are a way for the State Fair to manage increasing operation costs. According to State Fair General Manager Jerry Hammer, the actual per person cost is $18. You can purchase discounted advance tickets at the State Fair box office, Cub Foods or several other locations.   Photo via: m01229
