The storm of the year hit Minnesota this past Thursday and Friday adding ten to twelve inches of insult to what has already been been a cold and injurious winter.
The question on all of our minds is, “Is the worst of winter over?”
As we do about this time each year, Minnesotans the state over will channel their inner

Local photographer Bob Roth took a stroll through Fort Snelling National Cemetery yesterday and snapped some great photographs of the headstones peaking out of the white blanket of snow.
The sunny day and clear blue sky provided plenty of natural light for Bob to showcase many of the memorials to the great heroes who died for our country.

Last week, one of our submitting photographers, Bob Roth, was partaking in one of his favorite activities: walking around in nature's beauty with his camera. This time around, Bob was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery where he caught some wild turkeys braving the cold.

While many of us hate when Mother Nature dumps blankets of snow on us, there are some, like Leo picture above, who absolutely have a blast playing in the white powder. Leo looks like he is in heaven enjoying the snowfall in Stillwater today.

Bob also snapped a great picture as the sun was creeping below the horizon. This photo was facing west toward St. Paul in Bob's neighborhood.

Both photos were taken at Indian Mounds Park in St. Paul -- the above photo was taken on December 2, and the photo below was taken on December 12.
Another excellent picture of an eagle looking stoic in a tree -- it's no wonder...!--more-->

I graduated from the University of Minnesota last spring -- in the fall, I took a photography class. For an assignment, I was tasked with photographing beauty in nature. Mission accomplished. This picture was taken on the West Bank at the U of M near Rarig Center. This gorgeous tree with multi-colored leaves aplenty is one of my favorites from the semester.
