The Minnesota Vikings have a small chance of making the playoffs in 2016. The 7-7 Vikings, after starting off the season with so much promise, are barely hanging by their finger nails as far as their playoff hopes are concerned. In order for the Vikings to make it to the playoffs, the following things would have to happen.
It all starts in Green Bay this Saturday against the Packers, who are currently 8-6. The Vikings would have to beat the Packers and also would have to beat the Chicago Bears the following Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. That’s not the only thing the Vikings would have to have happen.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are currently 8-6, would have to lose both of their remaining games against the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers, who are both 6-8. Another thing that would have to happen is the Washington Redskins (7-6-1) would lose one of their two remaining games against either the Bears (3-11) or the New York Giants (10-4).
Last of all, the Detroit Lions (9-5) would have to beat either the Dallas Cowboys (12-2) this upcoming Monday or Green Bay the following Sunday in order to help the Vikings chances at making the playoffs.
As you can see, the road to the playoffs at this point in the season for the Vikings isn’t easy. The Vikings need to take care of their own business, starting this Saturday against the Green Bay Packers in order to keep those playoff hopes alive. It's sad that it has come to this after being 5-0 to start the season, the last remaining unbeaten team in the NFL. Since that 5-0 start, the Vikings are 2-7, amongst the worst records in the entire league through that nine game stretch. What a roller coaster 2016 has been for the Minnesota Vikings -- these last two weeks will determine where this ride ends.
