Veteran's Day Deals and Benefits Seek to Honor Military Personnel

Beautiful American Flag - Minnesota

As Americans, we can never do enough to thank the military personnel who have served our country. But on days like tomorrow, Veteran's Day, we can all try our best. Many restaurants and commercial establishments get in on the gratitude, working to show thanks with special offers and discounts to all military veterans. The number of deals are many -- keep that in mind when checking out our list below, as it only scratches the surface of the appreciative offers for veterans. Also, to all those veterans and active military members, keep in mind that you should have your military ID with you, as many places require proof of service to offer appreciation. First off, the Minnesota Zoo IMAX, the biggest movie screen in the state, offers veterans and active military personnel free admission. Many theaters around the Twin Cities also offer discounts to those with military IDs on a regular basis, so keep that in mind. One of my favorite places for cheap pizza, Little Ceasars, offers free Crazy Bread tomorrow to vets. Baker's Square is offering a choice of one of these free items for breakfast: buttermilk pancakes, three pieces of French Toast, or a Belgium Waffle. Denny's is offering all you can eat pancakes for active, inactive, and veteran military personnel. The 5-8 Club is offering a free burger all day to all former and active military personnel at any of their three Minnesota locations. Champps is offering a free hamburger and waffle fries to all active duty and retired military personnel. At Red Robin, veterans and active duty personnel get a free Tavern Burger and bottomless steak fries. Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Hinckley is offering a free lunch or dinner to veterans at their Grand Buffet. Treasure Island Resort and Casino is also offering a free ticket to their buffet. Participating Perkins locations are offering a free Magnificent Seven meal with the presentation of a military ID. Green Mill is offering 50% off an entree all day to veterans and active duty personnel. Participating locations of California Pizza Kitchen are offering a free pizza of any choice (dine-in only) to all former and active military personnel. Outback Steakhouse is offering veterans a free non-alcoholic drink and a Blooming Onion, as well as 10% off their meals from November 12th through December 31st of this year. Hooter's is offering a free meal up to $10.99 with a drink purchase to former and current service men and women. Applebee's, Chili's, Olive Garden (also offers 10% off to family dining with), and TGI Fridays (11 am - 2 pm only) are all offering free meals to veterans from a limited menu. Red Lobster is offering a free appetizer from a limited menu. Starbucks is offering former and active military personnel and their spouses one free tall brewed coffee. Bed, Bath, and Beyond is offering 20% off an entire purchase for military personnel and their spouses. So to all those who have served, if your significant other has been dying to scoop up some of the home comforts at Bed, Bath and Beyond, tomorrow is a great day. Steve Madden is offering 20% off an entire purchase to all veterans. JCPenny is also offering 20% off purchases. Cabela's is offering their employee discount to all former and active duty personnel, as well as fire fighters, law enforcement, and EMS persons. Home Depot and Lowe's are offering 10% discounts to all veterans tomorrow -- Home Depot also offers 10% off to active duty and retirees all year long. Participating locations of Sports Clips are offering free haircuts to veterans and active duty service members. Great Clips is doing one better, offering all customers a chance to grab a 'free haircut card' to give to their favorite veteran. Of course, veterans themselves can come in and get a free haircut or get a card for later (cards expire December 31, 2013). There are 37 car wash locations in the state that are offering free car washes to former and active military personnel. The locations include: Downtowner Car Wash, Mister Car Wash, Paradise, Clear Lakes Car Wash, On Broadway Car Wash, Ricky J's Car Wash, Soapy Joe's Car Wash, and many more. So for all of you veterans out there, take advantage of these discounts and offers as a small token of our appreciation. For those who know a veteran, share this with them to make them aware of all that is offered for their service. Photo via: Google FOLLOW MATTHEW DEERY
